Applying for your UK passport in Mongolia

Where to apply

If you need to apply for a passport in Mongolia, you should submit your application form and fee to the Consular Section, British Embassy in Ulaanbaatar.

At our office in Ulaanbaatar you can:

• collect passport application forms
• collect the LS01 form to report your lost or stolen passport
• submit your passport application form and pay your passport fee in person during Consular Section's public opening hours.

What to submit

To apply for a UK passport in Mongolia you must submit:

• your completed application form
• your 2 passport photographs
• your supporting documents
• your previous passport
• a correct fee by cash in USD.

Processing your passport application

Once you have submitted your passport application form, we will send your data information electronically to the Consulate General in Beijing for issuing.

It takes approximately 10 working days to process your passport application from the date we receive it. Therefore, we advise you to apply in advance of your next travel date.

We only physically issue Temporary 12 page passports and Emergency passports.

There may be a delay in processing your passport application if:

• you have used the wrong form
• you have submitted incomplete application form
• you have submitted incomplete documents.

Opening hours

Consular Section is open to the public between 09.00-11.00 on Mondays to Thursdays. Outside these hours if you require any information related to passport application or pick up passport application forms should go to the main door of the Embassy and ask to speak to the Consular Assistant.
